Meadow Tree Services Prunning Service
Pruning operations
BS 3998 states that no more than 25-30% of the trees canopy/ leaf mass should be removed in any one growing season.
As good arboricultural practise pruning operations should also remove:
Dead wood, (to prevent decay entering into the trees biological system).
Crossing branches, (to prevent fungus/ bacteria attacking the tree)
Duplicated branches, (removal of the weakest branch to reduce the chances of the tree shedding branches prematurely)
Removal of the above should be taken into account as part of the percentage for the pruning operation. Many contractors forget this and then over prune the tree.
